Retrospective
Word of mouth benefited from showcasing brick & mortar values transforming further awareness of the company and its traditional foundations. This is the story of why the Alan Bilzerian history is important.
Managing expectations of the internet generation while providing a refreshing status of the loyal clients of the company was my focus for improvement. Experimentations with user feedback and being well-versed in multi-designer brands, and knowledge of other store layouts merged the existence into a platform for e-commerce and media to reach a wider audience. Focusing on a brand strategy enabled the groundwork with consumers while maintaining a personal identity to celebrate the brand’s longtime history in Boston and make itself distinct from its competitors.

EXHIBITION
A direct correlation of private institutions, Alan Bilzerian, and the participation of the public.
Exhibition Eye Eye Nose Mouth: Art, Disability, and Mental Illness in Nanjing, China and Shiga-ken, Japan at the Harvard University Asia Center explore the intersection of art, disability, and mental health by displaying original works on paper and sculptures created by self-taught artists from China and Japan. The Alan Bilzerian team was invited to see the international film premiere of ‘Jizo Libido’ produced by PR-y.
‘Yohji Yamamoto | Dressmaker’ is a film that opens the conversations on discovering the layers of Yohji Yamamoto’s core values that shape his life and work. This film was showcased at the Providence Art + Design Film Festival. The work of Yamamoto’s visions unravels the past 40 years of his career and approaches the embodiment of the story of clothing.

SUPPORT
Finding like-minded creative sensibility with an international pursuit.
Along with beautiful linen pieces, the shop specifically featured ‘Inkman’ garments drawn by Toshio Okamoto from Atelier Yamanami for the Distortion 3 collection.
“He has this thing between freedom and guilt. He loves to have that guilt but doesn't understand why he can't also be free. You can see that in all the aspects of Yohji—the human aspects.”

INVOLVEMENT
Sharing a vision in a relatable voice for a curious audience.
Alan Bilzerian presented insight into the Nude:mm Spring-Summer 2019 collection by Masahiko Maruyama. An analysis of the artwork, film, and Q&A, emphasized Alan’s curation for his support of Atelier Yamnami.
The Q&A of the perspective of Alan Bilzerian after the film was conducted with his own opinions on the intimate process of how Yohji stays true to himself regardless of changing times. He believes his friend’s embodiment of the story of clothing should have been told.
Community
Real-time events presented the consistent transparency of Alan Bilzerian’s depth of work.
The importance of applying Alan’s contribution to the creative community in the New England area enables the youth to continue to learn and an inexorable generation to stop to listen carefully. Alan will always offer his curations in a physical space for anyone to discover but his involvement in the international industry offers a glimpse of what a personal satisfaction to pique others truly means. By involving more than one perspective of audience, I wanted to invite a sense of unity by researching beyond the straightforward events. These exhibitions are examples of the relatable vision of Alan Bilzerian that reaches the community directly.

Online Resurgence: Styling
+ Archives: Carol Christian Poell
+ Campaign Website Lookbook
The fashion community online drives its conversations across platforms to determine what is considered an impactful image. Information represented by visual components is the easiest spread of familiarity. People simply want a reliable source of long-term knowledge that is willing to be shared and re-used. By combining retrospectives and a sense of community, archiving it all stamps a moment of vision.
ARCHIVE
Enthusiasts curating their collections still seek to acquire objects from seasons past as a vestige of events in a fashion that may have gone regretfully unappreciated at the time. Avant-garde menswear, growing in appeal for an adventurous few, is no exception.

CAROL CHRISTIAN POELL
As one of Poell’s few American retailers, Alan Bilzerian began to carry these legendary pieces nearly 20 years ago. Selections from our archival collection of CCP pieces heavily feature signature designs from 2008’s ØØ and Off-Scene, as well as 2009’s Self-Same; it was during these years that CCP was inspired by the American West.
Poell's unparalleled skill as a tailor has impacted the artistic interpretation of the darkwear fashion subculture. His influence in design is recognizable through experimental construction and unconventional, industrial materials. He completely reimagines a selection of traditional menswear staples.
It's common for Alan Bilzerian to highlight his curated brands in this informative way. The campaign we published was inspired by having a concept around history from the same brick-and-mortar storytelling we represent.
Influence
Each sector of recorded history through verbal or pictorial layout cycles back to benefit beyond ourselves.
The culmination of strategic components that can rectify a business’s outlook on moving forward is codependent on both the buyer and seller. Consistent feedback towards the activity of the creative vision implies that the brand is adaptable to growth. Long-lasting relationships are built on top of competitive environments, emotional connections, and the overall appeal of the product. Such factors include the content of this fashion niche to seem approachable yet reflect its personal story.
